Mihkell.com
The idea for Mihkell.com (phonetic spelling of my government) came from a recent influx of requests to know "what's poppin tonight?" and "where you headed?".. Instead of repeating myself I decided to start blogging it out!
My Birthday Event
Sorry for the late (super late) post and two missed weekends of details! It'll never happen again, I promise! I just had so much fun celebrating my birthday that it's taken me this long to get around to posting again..

September 9 - September 12
Again with the late post!! I can't believe I did it again. Got so busy that I forgot to say where I was going for the weekend in advance. So, short post. Friday night, I went to support my faves, Erk & London, at a show they had at New Karibbean City in Downtown Oakland. Not a venue I'd suggest to anyone. Could be cool but they need serious renovations.
Saturday was my baby boy, Mikey's FIFTH BIRTHDAY party!! We went out to Boomer's in Livermore for pizza, cake, games, goKarts, etc. It was really a lot of fun. I came home BEAT. Save for a trip to Sunday Service and a stop at Subway after, I stayed home the rest of the weekend! I thought I was getting sick for a second. Can't let THAT happen...

September 3 - September 6 Labor Day Edition
Whew!! I'm pooped. Not sure why I didn't write this beFORE the weekend but I figured I'd do a recap. I had SO. MUCH. FUN. It is unbelievable how awesome the Bay has become and will become in the near future!
So Friday night I got my son Mikey from his Dad and we stayed in and watched the Disney channel. This is not my favorite way to spend a weekend night (sue me) but I don't mind. Nothing and no one is more important than my boo! ;)
Saturday we woke up, got a late start and headed over to the Lakeshore Cafe for breakfast. The Lakeshore Cafe has the best breakfast and people watching for the price and it's in a great location right on Lakeshore Ave. I had the fresh herb omelette with egg whites, their home fries, fruit and toast. Mikey ravaged a pancake breakfast then we went to the bank and over to pick up my Summer Jam tickets for later that night. Beauty Supply and Bay Street run and back to the house to quick change for the night.
My two friends met me at my place and we headed over to the Oracle Arena. VIP Parking let us skip by the line of... unmentionables (drawls literally. outside waiting to get through the chain link fence to enter the building..) We parked and walked down into the players entrance, stopped for margaritas at the Courtside Club and heard the show starting promptly at 7:30! We had so much fun!! I wouldn't have gone to Summer Jam any other way. Didn't trust it. But the show was great (if you're a smidge hood, you would've enjoyed..)
Sunday turned into a marathon day that I still don't think I've completely recovered from... I met up with my girl Anya, her daughter and our friend Robin to take the kids to an event at the Chabot Space & Science center. Parking was all gone and we were starving, so we went over to a BBQ I was invited to in San Mateo. After we ate, the kids played on the playground while we had girl talk. The guy that invited me was hosting the event and busy playing in his basketball tournament so we entertained ourselves for a while then headed back to the East Bay to eat again. lol
We went to Happy Hour at MUA in Uptown to grab some drinks and appetizers. Everything was delicious! Including the European waiter..... I had a pineapple martini that did the trick!! Two thumbs up.
Ran over to another BBQ at my friend (and new hairstylist and fellow Virgo) Miss Juan's house. The atmosphere was sexy summer bbq, think Sanaa's string lit backyard from "Something New". Sexy! There was tons of food and cool people. I wish I could've stayed longer but had to drop Mikey off so I could meet up with anOTHER friend.
Met her and went to Albany Bowl for one of my bestie, Damaya's, first 31st birthday event. A night at the bowling alley! The whole crew went over to Shattuck Down Low for Reggae Gold after a few games but I couldn't even do it! I went home and crashed. Hard.
Woke up to a sore body... Dragged myself to the shower, then back down to the Lakeshore Cafe for brunch. (I'm telling you it's the spot!) Grabbed an iced mocha at Peet's then went over to The New Parrish for the Monday Soul Member's Appreciation BBQ. The summer sun kept us warm! The patio was great, food, drinks, games, people.. I played Jenga, Connect Four and Uno and even did a little hula hooping. My girls Ebony and Kyion who run the Bay Area chapter of Play Date brought all the games. Oh! And I played Twister too! :)
I went to Luka's with Eb and Kyion after that bbq. More girl talk and a yummy raspberry ale. Hung out with my neighbor and went home to quick change to come BACK out for Monday Soul's Labor Day White Party. I wish I had taken a picture.. I thought I looked kinda cute! ;) Someone told me I was the most beautiful out last night. Awwww!!! I'll take it.
Today is Tuesday. It feels like Monday and I want to sleep so badly! I can't believe I did all that!! LOL
Sidenote: Pics from the bbq are showing over there to the right--> up top ^^

August 27 - August 29
This weekend will be a fun one!! (Actually all of mine are. :) ) But I'm excited about this weekend since tomorrow (Saturday 8/28) is the BATTLE OF THE BAY!!!! There will be a lot of this..
AND THIS
Those are pictures of MY San Francisco Forty Niners stomping in the heads of the Oakland Raiders. I think the last time I went to a Niner game was in '08. This year we're looking great so I'm anxious to get in the stadium and cheer my boys to victory! (And get some drinking and flirting in too..)
My girls and I are still looking for a pre-game tailgate to crash so keep your fingers crossed for us! ;) Sooooo, after I get my hair done by Miss Juan at Oasis Pamper Bar, I'm dropping my baby with friends and heading to the stadium! I might bring him with me for MNF on 9/20..
On Sunday, I believe I'll be at a crab feed at my homegirl's house. Keep your fingers crossed for that too. That's AFTER Sunday Service at my beloved Greater St. Paul of course. I haven't been in weeks. #badgirl Sunday night, I'm hoping to squeeze in a night at the movies with my "Bad Girls" (no details) to go see the FINE MEN in Takers!!! *fans self*
End of post. *still fanning*
Sidenote: The Eat Real Festival is today through Sunday (for all my greedy people!) in Jack London Square! If I can squeeze that in I will. Tonight is also the Grand Opening of the "ME" restaurant & lounge in Hayward. Performances by Samm & London are scheduled. They're two of the dopest out of the Bay right now!

August 23
I'm in the Sacramento area during the week. (For now) BUT when the headliners were local favorites, Erk Tha Jerk (http://erkthajerk.com/) & London (http://londonland.tv/) I made a special 'during the week' trek to Oakland for "Monday Soul" at the New Parish. Hosted by Jackson "Mr. JE" Ellis & Jareem Gunter, it's the only place to be on Monday's in the East Bay. If you go anywhere else, you'll probably be mad. The last time I went for London's performance and I swear I had the most fun I've ever had when I've gone out for the night in Oakland. (Note: Our bottles of Grey Goose greatly impact my opinion about the night in question. Don't judge.)
In SF, Monday nights at Gravity with Chuck Kelly & Big Von (of KMEL) are supposed to be hot. I haven't been yet but I hear it goes down.
Sidenote: The performers showcased change weekly and there's always a party after with DJ's D-Sharp and Hector.

August 20 - August 22
So! This weekend is gonna be a little hectic! I didn't make it to Oakland last weekend so I've got to squeeze in a lot and there's just a bunch of things going on!! #iHellaLoveOakland
Friday night my book club "Booktini" is having our monthly meeting. This month we're doing a special dinner and movie night after reading "Eat, Pray, Love". Dinner of pizza and pasta on Bay Street, then a trip to the theater! Good, wholesome fun! Then I have to find a drink.
My home dude (really great guy!) KMEL DJ, DC is having the first of his 25th birthday weekend celebrations at Maxwell's. I'll get my drink there. Though I'm not a fan of the venue, I def plan to come show my buddy some love.

| (aww he's so cute.) |
Saturday evening... My girl said she might bbq... Then DC is having the second installment of his b-day celebration in the city. Dunno if I'm gonna make it out... You know how you get to a house party and just get stuck... lol
Sunday is service at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Oakland. (LOVE MY
CHURCH!) Then another afternoon at Art & Soul. I'd like to squeeze a date in Sunday night but who knows if THAT'LL happen... Let's just say I won't hold my breath. ;)
Sidenote: The SF Street Food Fest is also happening and it was a hard decision not to go to that on Saturday. And Rock The Bells is Sunday. With LAURYN HILL. These are the tough decisions.

August 13 - August 15
I'm up in Sacramento this weekend. A playdate with Mikey, his buddy Hilary and her Mommy are planned for Saturday. Might get a visit from Anya, Robin and LIBBY!! Love that kid.
For the record, I do not like staying in Sac on weekends. However, since we're actually having summer weather, I don't mind as much. The plan is to be in Oakland full time, As Soon As Possible.
