September 9 - September 12

Again with the late post!! I can't believe I did it again. Got so busy that I forgot to say where I was going for the weekend in advance. So, short post. Friday night, I went to support my faves, Erk & London, at a show they had at New Karibbean City in Downtown Oakland. Not a venue I'd suggest to anyone. Could be cool but they need serious renovations.

Saturday was my baby boy, Mikey's FIFTH BIRTHDAY party!! We went out to Boomer's in Livermore for pizza, cake, games, goKarts, etc. It was really a lot of fun. I came home BEAT. Save for a trip to Sunday Service and a stop at Subway after, I stayed home the rest of the weekend! I thought I was getting sick for a second. Can't let THAT happen...

Because it's almost time for MY BIRTHDAY BLOWOUT WEEKEND!!

September 3 - September 6 Labor Day Edition

Whew!! I'm pooped. Not sure why I didn't write this beFORE the weekend but I figured I'd do a recap. I had SO. MUCH. FUN. It is unbelievable how awesome the Bay has become and will become in the near future!

So Friday night I got my son Mikey from his Dad and we stayed in and watched the Disney channel.  This is not my favorite way to spend a weekend night (sue me) but I don't mind. Nothing and no one is more important than my boo! ;)

Saturday we woke up, got a late start and headed over to the Lakeshore Cafe for breakfast.  The Lakeshore Cafe has the best breakfast and people watching for the price and it's in a great location right on Lakeshore Ave. I had the fresh herb omelette with egg whites, their home fries, fruit and toast. Mikey ravaged a pancake breakfast then we went to the bank and over to pick up my Summer Jam tickets for later that night. Beauty Supply and Bay Street run and back to the house to quick change for the night.

My two friends met me at my place and we headed over to the Oracle Arena. VIP Parking let us skip by the line of... unmentionables (drawls literally. outside waiting to get through the chain link fence to enter the building..) We parked and walked down into the players entrance, stopped for margaritas at the Courtside Club and heard the show starting promptly at 7:30! We had so much fun!! I wouldn't have gone to Summer Jam any other way. Didn't trust it. But the show was great (if you're a smidge hood, you would've enjoyed..)

Sunday turned into a marathon day that I still don't think I've completely recovered from... I met up with my girl Anya, her daughter and our friend Robin to take the kids to an event at the Chabot Space & Science center. Parking was all gone and we were starving, so we went over to a BBQ I was invited to in San Mateo. After we ate, the kids played on the playground while we had girl talk. The guy that invited me was hosting the event and busy playing in his basketball tournament so we entertained ourselves for a while then headed back to the East Bay to eat again. lol

We went to Happy Hour at MUA in Uptown to grab some drinks and appetizers. Everything was delicious! Including the European waiter..... I had a pineapple martini that did the trick!! Two thumbs up.

Ran over to another BBQ at my friend (and new hairstylist and fellow Virgo) Miss Juan's house. The atmosphere was sexy summer bbq, think Sanaa's string lit backyard from "Something New". Sexy! There was tons of food and cool people. I wish I could've stayed longer but had to drop Mikey off so I could meet up with anOTHER friend.

Met her and went to Albany Bowl for one of my bestie, Damaya's, first 31st birthday event. A night at the bowling alley! The whole crew went over to Shattuck Down Low for Reggae Gold after a few games but I couldn't even do it! I went home and crashed. Hard.

Woke up to a sore body... Dragged myself to the shower, then back down to the Lakeshore Cafe for brunch. (I'm telling you it's the spot!) Grabbed an iced mocha at Peet's then went over to The New Parrish for the Monday Soul Member's Appreciation BBQ. The summer sun kept us warm! The patio was great, food, drinks, games, people.. I played Jenga, Connect Four and Uno and even did a little hula hooping. My girls Ebony and Kyion who run the Bay Area chapter of Play Date brought all the games. Oh! And I played Twister too! :)

I went to Luka's with Eb and Kyion after that bbq. More girl talk and a yummy raspberry ale. Hung out with my neighbor and went home to quick change to come BACK out for Monday Soul's Labor Day White Party. I wish I had taken a picture.. I thought I looked kinda cute! ;) Someone told me I was the most beautiful out last night. Awwww!!! I'll take it.

Today is Tuesday. It feels like Monday and I want to sleep so badly! I can't believe I did all that!! LOL

Sidenote: Pics from the bbq are showing over there to the right--> up top ^^
