Summer Sandals...

Next week I get a holiday from work and will be lunching in the city with my Mommy. Gonna check out the spring and summer selections at Neiman's & Macy's.

I have a favorite shoe type. Can you guess what it is? ;)

It has been raining in the Bay Area for weeks...

And this is how I feel about it.

Please. And thank you.

March 25 - March 27, 2011

So about this weekend... I believe I have a photo shoot. My new found friend and future business associate Danielle Banks (manager and PR for rapper Fillmore Rich) has started a cosmetics line called I AM ME Beauty. She wants me to shoot with her! I'm flattered.

Saturday I don't have much up besides a session with my new personal trainer, Lisa Doright, owner of Better Body Today. I've gotta get right for my summer trips to Miami and wherever else I decide to go.

Also on Saturday, I did hear about a gala at the DeYoung... I'd love to go! But I'd want company... Details below:

Balenciaga and Spain

An ArtPoint Gala
Saturday, March 26, 2011

Fashion icon. Celebrated designer. Acclaimed visionary.

Celebrate the glamour and elegance of Balenciaga, alongside San Francisco’s fashion elite, as ArtPoint hosts an exhibition viewing and black-tie gala at the de Young. Say si! and indulge in decadent Spanish-influenced cocktails and hors d´oeuvres, while you dance the night away to DJ Shissla. We’ll bring together the allure and legacy of one of fashion’s most renowned designers with an evening befitting his distinguished career, making this an occasion not to be missed.

VIP guests will enjoy a pre-party with private exhibition tours and all-night access to an exclusive lounge serving heavy appetizers and Segura Viudas Brut Reserva.

Balenciaga and Spain examines the profound and enduring influence of Spain on the work of haute couture master Cristóbal Balenciaga. The impact of Spanish culture, history, and traditions is explored through the recurring themes in Balenciaga’s oeuvre, organized in the exhibition into six sections: Spanish Art, Regional Dress, the Spanish Court, Religious Life and Ceremony, the Bullfight, and Dance. Hamish Bowles, European editor at large for Vogue, serves as guest curator.

Sounds like my kind of party... ;)

Sunday I've got personal training, Sunday service at GSP, a book club meeting and hopefully a date! Wonder if I can do it all...

February. Where Did It Go?

Where did I go?

I had to check my calendar. I didn't realize how much I did. And I'm sure I'm going to forget something, but here's a recap:

  • 2/1 - Golden State Poetry Slam with @nercity to set up a table for "Oakland Girl". It was a good night for me!
  • 2/4 - I went to visit with my biz partner before she took off to LA for 3 weeks. We went out to a Mardi Gras themed house party in Walnut Creek to see some of the homies after.
  • 2/5 - I had my son's elementary school auction which was hosted by Chuy Gomez! Fun times and great food!
  • 2/6 - Super Bowl Sunday I party hopped. Had my son and my girl's daughter, we went from Emeryville to Newark right after the halftime show.
  • Conference Calls
  • 2/11 - Picked up a rental car and hit the 5 South to La La Land... I had an amazing amazing amazing time. Grammy Weekend. Hot Parties. Great Music and Quality Time.
  • Valentine's Day. A friend of mine saved it for me. I drove back from LA that day and had no plans. He bought me some chocolates and a teddy bear from Walgreen's. Pizza and a RedBox movie. :)
  • All Star Weekend while everyone was in LA, I have no idea what I did in Oakland. Don't remember!
  • This past weekend I went to a reception hosted by Mayor Jean Quan at the African American Library, then shot over to the Warriors game. Big Warrior loss but I had a great time! Spent Saturday with my business partner catching up on projects, then went out with my girl who is home from Atlanta for the week. I'd tell you about our adventure but then I'd have to merk you!
  • 2/27 - My book club Booktini met for our Semi-Annual co-ed meeting and that was a colorful discussion, to say the least! There ended up being about 20 of us in the lounge at the Uptown apartments, trying to keep the volume down so as not to disturb the neighbors...Later that night, my girl and I went to the city to catch Ryan Leslie at Ruby Skye. GREAT SHOW! He took forever to get on stage but once he showed up I loved every second. I'm a HUGE fan of his music. He's one of the great producers of our time.
Tonight, Monday 2/28, I have tix to see Common and Cookie Johnson at the Casquelorde Center but I don't think I'm going to make it! I'm pooped! Slept three hours last night. (That's not enough.)

Summer 2011...

I'm starting to search for my summer looks... I've already drastically changed my hair color... Going to add a few new things to my wardrobe, get with my personal trainer and work on my tan... ;) This is just a sample of what I've found. Can't give away all of my secrets!
