SPECIAL EVENT: Everything Kicks at The New Parkway Theater - MAR 17

Ever wondered why people spend what they spend for tennis shoes? Why they wait in line for hours... and even KILL each other over a pair of shoes? Come check out "Everything Kicks"!!

This project is very near and dear to my heart, as it is the brainchild of my love, Phillip Nelson, who like myself is an Oakland native with a deep seated love for his hometown and its residents. Born and raised in Oakland, Phil is a certified "Sneakerhead" whose sneaker collection at one time topped over 300 pair of shoes. He loves the game so much he decided to document the culture a few years ago and what we have today is "Everything Kicks", a highly anticipated 120 minute film, directed and produced by Phil!  After countless hours of editing, the film is ready for screening and you're invited. I've seen the doc (of course!) and it's very informative! Come out in your freshest kicks and get snapped on the red carpet! All for an amazing cause!

MORE DETAILS & TICKET INFO AFTER THE JUMP!

Being the generous man (with the huge heart) that he is, Phil is also organizing a major fundraiser to raise money and collect brand new shoes to give away to families with children who need "Shoes for School" in the fall. A portion of the proceeds from the film screening's ticket sales will go to buying new shoes for the "Shoes for School" event, which is slated for late August, just before the start of the school year. Donations of brand new children's shoes will be accepted at the screening.

The screening takes place on March 17th at Oakland's own, The New Parkway, the rebirth of the "old" Parkway theater that closed a couple years back. Have your choice of food and drinks delivered to your seats during the screening. Check their Menu here.
